These
NPCs are more bit-players than the major NPC writeups, but still pop
up enough to at least be mentioned, appear in the fiction now and
then, and work to fill out the world just a bit more. This is a work
in progress, and more will be added to this over time. Major NPCs
have a separate writeup page.
Wind,
Human Physical Adept(KIA)
Wind
was the team's previous adept, killed during a run just over three
months before they acquired Talon. Wind was actually an archery
adept; he was in his early 30s, studied his archery skills overseas
in Japan(despite being thoroughly American), and was fairly
nondescript; he kept his head shaved, had no cyberware, and had
lightly tanned skin from the elements, keeping his face clean shaven
as well.
Spanky
had found them when the initial team(Downfall, Vallie, and Sullivan)
were looking for someone else who was skilled at ranged work, given
they had a job that
Wind
was likewise extremely stealthy, even moreso than Sullivan, given his
adept powers.
I
might arrange his character sheet as he was when he was alive.
Wind's
death came from when he covered the rest of the team's exit. It was
unknown why he decided to do this, though uncovering small bits of
information-mostly through Spanky-he wanted to atone for something
long past. No one knows what this is, and no one can really even find
his next of kin, if he had any. His death hit Sullivan the hardest,
as the old ork always felt like he was the one who should go first,
and he also felt that given his job as the sniper/overwatch he should
have had him covered, though he does not let his death get in the way
of his job.
Kari,
Human Raccoon Shaman
A
girl of unknown origin-seemingly just a random European mix,
thoroughly born and bred in the UCAS,of roughly 20 years of age. Jolt
had met her some time back, and she is a skilled Raccoon shaman,
occasionally giving the group help on runs as a spare magical member,
mostly for stealthy endeavors.
Kari
is also a thief; though she does actually like bigger payoffs, given
Raccoon finding things like petty theft or violent muggings are far
below his dignity(Raccoon is a thief totem.) She is skilled at
various types of locks as well, even traditional ones, which are a
hard find in the 2050s, given that many places use maglocks nowadays,
it's a lost art-which is exactly why some rather important things are
sometimes kept in traditional places.
She
chooses to not be a part of the group so much as Raccoon is a bit
more of a loner, though she is also a very good source of street
information. She spends some time hanging out with Jolt from time to
time trading information(she knows her way around a computer far
better than most shamans), hanging out in Shadowland and doing more
info trading, scouting potential thieving areas, practicing her
manual lockpicking skills or playing the occasional videogame8she
likes first-person stealth through games and tends to 'ghost' them.)
She
does have a pet raccoon that comes along with her often; a sort of
fat lazy fellow that she calls Feodor; she raised him from a baby.
Feodor never refuses an offer of food, eats anything, and seems to
have a sixth sense on if someone's nasty or not(people wonder if he's
somehow Awakened. She doesn't know.)
“Theo”
Logan:
Touched
on in an earlier bit, Theo is a young troll mechanic that works at
the same shop that Vallie does. He's mentioned here since he does,
occasionally, give an extra hand when it comes to chop shop deals.
Theo has long, unkempt hair not unlike something you'd see in a hair
metal band, wears loose t-shirts with the sleeves ripped off,
distressed jeans and listens to much of the same music. He became a
sort of friend to the group through Vallie. He's fairly average height for a troll fellow(putting him just over seven and a half feet), and build.
Theo
knows his way around a vehicle and can usually cut down the time
needed to strip something down. He's also good for bits of street
knowledge on where to fence certain mechanical goods, though he
doesn't do it himself. He also, for a small price(which may include
synthahol) go into some troll/ork oriented areas and sort of 'play
down' his rather usually intelligent self to glean some bits of
information needed.
He
also knows a few people in underground rock clubs, if the team for
some reason needs to snoop around. He has a large warehouse that he
converted to a combination vehicle shop and living quarters, and for
another small price(usually a case of synthahol this time), he's
willing to lend it out as a sort of safehouse. It's underground in a
rather remote area near Renton, so it usually is well off the radar
for any sort of authorities.
Nate, aka "Azraphel"
One of Jolt's old buddies for about three years, Nate is a young, perhaps twenty-one year old ork who looks surprisingly human(the Human Looking edge.) Besides his height of about six and a half feet, you have to look closely for the slightly pointed ears(Ork ears are pointed a little, not to the extent of elves), and you can't really see his tusks unless you're looking at him up close and he happens to be grinning. He has long, brown hair, a sort of ghastly pallor from spending much of his time in his dingy basement flop and very unsettling natural, amber eyes. He usually dresses in worn-out metal t-shirts with the sleeves ripped off(the band logos are only decipherable once in awhile, given his favorite genre is black metal, and they are notorious for logos where you can't read the name), jeans, and large combat boots with a few spikes here and there. On stage, he wears the tell-tale black and white corpsepaint(often looking like a skeletal visage), spiked wristguards and stage blood, usually playing guitar but 'singing' half of the songs in the typical evil, shrieking black metal voice. Alastor is his stage name. He has a variety of combat 'ware plugged into his meatbod, though of varying quality.
He can be scary and standoffish to those he doesn't know, but his friends know him as friendly, humorous(even if it's a black humor), and very defensive of them. Usually working for organized crime as a kneebreaker, headbasher and/or intimidator(he doesn't care who he works for), he can pick up bits of knowledge on the streets and he's more than willing to pass them along, particularly to his friend Jolt, but he has some working relationship with the rest of the team now as well, even if it's more on an acquaintance level. He takes awhile to warm up to brand new people.
